I am a Tokyo-based writer, translator, and editor from the UK.
I write and research about sociocultural history, with particular interests in social movements and countercultures, urban space and gentrification, and the performing and visual arts.
I am currently a PhD candidate at Sophia University, Tokyo, working on a dissertation about mass and underground culture in postwar Japan during the high-growth period, with a focus on the early films of Adachi Masao.
